Our Safety Policy
Injury Free
The Management of Willow is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. This policy recognises that this is the responsibility of management, working in cooperation and consultation with employees, to ensure ongoing active prevention of injury and illness in our workplace.
Willow is committed to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a Health and Safety Management System. All employees will be consulted on OH&S issues and their views and recommendations will be taken into account in the program development and implementation process.

This will be achieved through:

  • Maintaining an effective OH&S risk management process to ensure that all workplace hazards are identified, the associated risks assessed and appropriate measures are introduced to control these risks;
  • All necessary inspections, maintenance, repairs, cleaning, modifications and housekeeping will be undertaken with urgency;
  • Safe standard work procedures and systems of work will be developed and implemented;
  • All employees and contractors will be provided with appropriate information, regular OH&S training and supervision in order to undertake their duties safely and without risk to health;
  • Tasks requiring specific qualifications, skills or experience will only be undertaken by those competent to do so;
  • All employees will be provided with appropriate amenities for their comfort and convenience.

These amenities, and the physical working environment, will be maintained in a healthy and safe condition;

  • All visitors to the workplace will be provided with identification badges and any necessary protective equipment, and adequately supervised to ensure workplace health and safety; and
  • Employee rehabilitation and return to work will commence as soon as possible after injury/illness.

The Board of Directors and the Executive Management Team accept overall responsibility for the effective management of workplace health and safety.

Manager & Supervisor Responsibility
Managers and supervisors at all levels are responsible, within the scope of their authority, for ensuring that:

  • The objectives of this policy are integrated into work practices;
  • The tasks required for the successful implementation of this organisation’s risk management program are undertaken; and
  • Employees are consulted on workplace health and safety matters.

Employees Responsibility
All employees are responsible for:

  • Carrying out their duties in a manner which does not adversely affect their own health or that of others;
  • Cooperating with measures introduced in the interests of workplace health and safety;
  • Undertaking any OH&S training provided; and
  • Immediately reporting all matters, which may affect workplace health and safety to their supervisor.

OH&S Committee Responsibility
The OH&S Committee has a duty to:

  • Promote fulfillment of this policy’s objectives;
  • Support the successful implementation of risk management processes; and
  • Facilitate consultation on OH&S matters.

OH&S Standard to be achieved
Willow is committed to sustaining a work environment that does not expose employees to hazards and that provides employees and contractors with information, training and supervision to enable them to work safely. Willow will meet all legal and statutory OH&S requirements and will achieve best practice in the implementation and management of its OH&S program.
Willow’s OH&S performance will be reported in the Company’s monthly management reviews.
This policy will be reviewed periodically to accommodate legislative and organisational changes.

Environment & Community Policy
Zero Harm
Willow is committed to continual improvement in performance, efficient use of natural resources and aspire to zero harm to people and the environment.
Environment and community responsibilities are integral to the way we do business and we take this responsibility seriously.
We will:

  • Identify, assess and manage risks to the environment and communities;
  • Achieve leading industry environmental practices;
  • Meet and, where appropriate, exceed applicable legal, regulatory and best practice requirements;
  • Set and achieve targets that include reducing and preventing pollution;
  • Support the fundamental human rights of employees, contractors and the community in which we operate;
  • Care for the environment and value cultural heritage;
  • Advise on the responsible use of our products; and
  • Develop our people and provide resources to meet our targets.

Our measure of success will be when we achieve our target of zero harm.
